Sensuality in the City, presented by Forest Collective and Melbourne Recital Centre

Forest Collective and Melbourne Recital Centre presents, as a part of Metropolis New Music Festival 2016

Sensuality in the City

Forest Collective presents Sensuality and the City bringing together sexuality and sensuality in metropolitan centres through music and visual elements with a focus on queer composers.

Soprano Rosemary Ball will thrill you with her cheeky rendition of Recitation No. 9 (1977) by Georges Apherghis while two Australian premieres by Philip Venables (F*** Forever [2011] and Fight Music [2009]) will have you on the edge of your seats, as Phillips works have been described as “brutally effective” (The Times) and “a dark and violent portrait of sexual desire” (SoSoGay.com).

The entire program will be accompanied by visual elements from Jake Preval - a Melbourne based artist working in a variety of mediums spanning sculpture, photography, installation and performance.
