Forest Collective and Melbourne Recital Centre presents
Moonfall
Unfinished novels, computer gams, world premieres, dance and more.
Forest Collective joins forces with Rubik’s Collective for Metropolis New Music Festival 2015 to perform a multi-layered program spanning film and new music.
Artistic Director of Forest Collective, Evan Lawson shares his arrangement of ‘Moonfall’ fromThe Mystery of Edwin Drood, a melancholic novel left unfinished by Charles Dickens just prior to his death and adapted for stage and screen in the 1980s. From unfinished 19th century novels to the world of technology, Swedish composer Marcus Fjellström combines three ingredients from his childhood (cartoons, computer games and nightmares) to write, compose, create and animate the story of Odboy and Erordog (2012). Experimental, dark and filled with intrigue, the story follows a boy and his dog who embark on a black and white adventure.
